Rebecca Chester has been honoured with an MBE for her outstanding work as a consultant nurse, caring for people with learning disabilities.
An inspirational member of our team, Rebecca’s investiture took place on 7 March at Buckingham Palace, where HRH The Prince of Wales presented her with her MBE.
A consultant nurse for people with learning disabilities at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Chair of the United Kingdom Learning Disability Consultant Nurse Network, Rebecca says: “The whole experience of going to the palace for the investiture was incredible. I had the opportunity to meet with other people who were receiving their investiture and to hear about the amazing work that they had done to benefit others.”
She concludes: “It was a privilege to be able to represent learning disability nursing and the work that learning disability nurses do to enable people living with learning disabilities to overcome the health inequalities often faced.”
“Prince Charles was interested to hear about the services that Berkshire Healthcare provides to children and adults living with learning disabilities and the work of the Consultant Nurse Network.”
