What’s your career journey been like at Berkshire Healthcare?
“I joined the trust as a Healthcare Assistant and within a year I was fortunate enough to be seconded to do my Mental Health Nursing degree. And following that I’ve had plenty of opportunities to further upskill myself to become an independent nurse prescriber. I’ve worked in many services in East Berkshire and am now an Associate Nurse Consultant with the Community Mental Health team in Slough. I feel quite passionate to be doing what I’m doing.”
How has Berkshire Healthcare supported you?
“I was very fortunate to seconded to do my Mental Health Nursing degree as a mature student. Without that, I definitely wouldn’t have thought about going into full-time education. Then I studied part-time alongside work so I’m an independent prescriber today. That speaks volumes about how the trust want people to develop and progress.”
What’s the best things about working for Berkshire Healthcare?
“I see Berkshire Healthcare as one of the best trusts in terms of providing equal opportunities for people from different backgrounds. People have got plenty of opportunities to progress their career if they have the passion and commitment to do it. I take pride and am proud to say that Berkshire Healthcare is one of the best service providers because I’ve worked across many counties that provide mental health services but Berkshire Healthcare stands well above everyone.”
