A picture of a specialist EMED transport driver

The provider of our non-emergency patient transport service is changing from South Central Ambulance Service to EMED Group on Tuesday 1 April 2025.

Published 26 March 2025

Non-emergency patient transport services (NEPTS) support people requiring specialist transport to attend outpatient appointments, receive treatment, and support with admission and discharges.

How to book

From Tuesday 1 April onwards, if you, your carer or family member is booking transport, contact the EMED booking and information team

Call 0300 777 3333

During this initial call, the team will check your eligibility for the service. After this, bookings can be made and managed through the EMED Patient Zone online. If you know your appointment will be longer than an hour, let EMED know.

Any bookings you make with the current provider before 1 April will be automatically transferred to EMED Group.

If you wish to be considered for the service, you can find more information, including the eligibility criteria, on the EMED Group website.
