On the 22nd of November, our One Team Networking event brought together key voices from the local authority, voluntary and community sectors, mental health teams in Berkshire as well as lived experience practitioners, service users and carers.

The half-day event saw a full schedule including updates on the progress and deliverables of the One Team project from Jayne Reynolds, Director of Operational Development. A varied agenda also saw Aidan Jordan-Lewis and Sheetal Tanna present their innovative concept, the Bracknell Happiness Hub, a network of community and healthcare services that joined forces to offer a more holistic experience for service users and carers. They passionately described the model that is delivered in partnership with Bracknell Forest Council and inspired many in the room.

Natalie Chatham and Alistair Whittle showcased the functionality of The Joy App, a digital tool already successfully adopted in Wokingham and Reading to support easier referral and social prescribing processes. Berkshire Healthcare is currently looking at the potential of rolling out The Joy App across Berkshire to support both professionals and service users to access community support more easily.

Attendees embraced the opportunity to feedback their thoughts; Theresa Wyles and Kishan Waas asked the group to help design the booking system for planned assessments. This involved the group inputting on potential digital solutions, and advising on how processes can be made more streamlined and efficient for all.

Victoria Charlesworth encouraged attendees to think about what the 'named key worker' roles may look like under the new One Team model. A rich discussion was had about how these roles could operate to deliver joined-up, consistent care for the service user.

The agenda also left time for networking which proved invaluable for many. Attendees enjoyed swapping details of their services and initiatives as well as making connections to build on the great work already happening in Berkshire's Mental Health space.

The next One Team Networking Event will take place in March 2024, further details to follow.
