Women's support service
If you’re a woman who has had contact with the police or courts the Liaison and Diversion team could help you.
Women in custody have different needs to men. We offer all women in custody or court an assessment to see how we can support their mental, physical and personal health and wellbeing as they make their way through the justice system.
We aim to reduce rate of offending and re-offending by assisting women to access services which can support them.
We'll identify any vulnerabilities and put you in touch with agencies outside the criminal justice system who can help you with:
- Accommodation
- Finance, debts and benefits
- Physical and mental health
- Drug or alcohol misuse
- Children, families and relationships
- Mental and emotional help
- Abuse, rape and domestic violence
- Education, training and employment
- Ending sex work
Your assessment will be shared with agencies such as social care services, health service, courts and investigating officers.
It will help them to better understand your situation and make the right criminal justice decisions for you and your health.
