Psychology for Older Adults service (East Berkshire)

If you’re an older person with complicated emotional and mental health needs, we can provide you with a psychological assessment and therapy.

We can assess and treat you if you have conditions including:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Trauma
  • Psychoses
  • Adjustment disorders

Once you’ve been referred into our service, we’ll let you know if and how long you’ll need to wait for an assessment.

We can carry out your assessment at one of our clinics or, if needed, in your own home. We might need to make more than one appointment for us to assess you thoroughly.

During these appointments, we’ll ask you about any difficulties you’ve been experiencing to help us give you the right treatment.

Once you’ve been assessed, we’ll discuss whether a psychological approach is appropriate and what your treatment options are.

To access our service, you’ll need to be referred to our Gateway team by your healthcare professional.
