Art Therapists

Art Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses art media as its primary mode of expression and communication.

Our Art Therapists work with children, young people, adults and the elderly and can be found in child, adolescent, adult and older age mental health teams, amongst others.

Dieticians

Our Dietitians diagnose and treat diet and nutritional issues across various specialties. With around 50 Dietitians at our trust and the Royal Berkshire Hospital, we cover areas like frailty, intensive care, oncology, paediatrics, and more. Newly qualified Dietitians benefit from our preceptorship programme, offering a smooth transition and support. We provide clinical supervision, CPD, and shadowing opportunities for specialist competencies.

Additionally, we employ Dietetic Assistant Practitioners (band 4) to support our Dietitians.

Drama Therapist

Our Drama Therapists are both clinicians and artists that draw on their knowledge of both theatre/drama and therapy to use performance arts as a medium for psychological therapy. They work in areas such as CAMHS.

Occupational Therapists (OTs)

Our Occupational Therapists (OTs) specialise in intermediate care, inpatient rehab, long COVID, paediatrics, mental health (including CAMHS), neurology, wheelchair services, care home support and learning disabilities. We offer development opportunities through our learning department, OT forums, and AHP forums. Newly qualified OTs can join our preceptorship programme to transition from student to registered therapist.

Rotational band 5 posts in both mental and physical health are also available.

Paramedics

We employ Paramedics across our Urgent Community Response Service and Urgent Care Centres to help assess patients who require an urgent response to prevent unnecessary admission to hospital.

Newly qualified Physiotherapists can join our preceptorship programme to transition smoothly from student to registered Physiotherapist. Our dynamic band 5 rotational programme offers acute care experience at Royal Berkshire Hospital.

With more rehabilitation occurring outside acute hospitals, it's an exciting time to join our community services team.

Podiatrists

Our Podiatrists offer vital assessment and care for various foot conditions, specialising in MSK, wound care, minor nail surgery, and high-risk foot care. Newly qualified Podiatrists can smoothly transition through our preceptorship programme. We have band 5 and senior band 6 Podiatrists, along with clinical specialists focusing on wound care or MSK. Collaboration with diabetic foot teams at Wexham Park and Frimley provides learning opportunities.

We support CPD through funding, external courses, conferences, in-house study days and clinical supervision.

Speech and Language Therapists

Our Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) work with children and adults, including those with neurodiversity. In adults' services, we offer care in various community settings, specialising in acquired neurological disorders like MND and Parkinson’s. We provide regular supervision and a preceptorship programme for new therapists.

Band 5 roles include dysphagia training, Lee Silverman Voice Training, and shadowing opportunities within our dynamic team.
