Congratulations to His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort
The Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort takes place at Westminster Abbey on Saturday 6 May, followed by a weekend of celebrations.
On Sunday 7 May a Coronation Concert will take place at Windsor Castle including a performance from the Coronation Choir, a diverse group of singers from the nation’s community choirs, including NHS choirs.
An additional 10,000 people are expected to travel to Windsor for the Coronation Concert and we want to reassure our patients that the King Edward VII Hospital will be open as usual during this time. If you have an appointment booked, please assume it will go ahead unless you are told otherwise.
NHS and social care workers will be given spaces in front of Buckingham Palace for the Coronation, and a number of frontline NHS staff have been invited to the Coronation Concert in Windsor, in recognition of their commitment and dedication to helping others.
Julian Emms, Chief Executive of Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, said: “On behalf of the Trust I would like to offer our congratulations to His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort. The late Queen Elizabeth II was steadfast in her support of the NHS, and we’re delighted to see that the new King and Queen are continuing her legacy by including the NHS on this special occasion.”
